First thing noted on arrival apart from the 20 minute taxi to the gate,were the WFU B717s of Jetstar near to the Qantas hangars,these would have to wait to be identified the following day,there was also around 10 Qantas and Virgin Blue at the gates together with a few more Jetstar A320s,so this was very encouraging sight as I was not sure what was going to be found and at what volume. The following morning a 20 minute taxi ride found us at the Domestic terminal and after having our bags screened,we accessed the departure gates,it took a short time to find a suitable place and eventually we got settled at the end of Qantas finger pier near gate 20,this gave a clear view of 01/19 Runway,01 was in use on this day with some of the Dh8 using the crosswind runway 14/32 as this gave a short taxi to the terminal.As this was going to be the last full day that we would spend in Australia,we were determined to fill in the missing gaps in the log from the previous days.It appears that we were successful as at the end of the day we only needed a handful of all the major operators in Australia.Qantas,all the A330s were seen,all but 3 of the 700/800 series,all the 767 except OGM,of the Virgin Blue fleet all were seen except -VBU,the Jetstars all seen except -VQM/QZ,we also hit the commuter fleet as might be expected,just 5 of the QantasLink Dh8s missing and the REX Saab 340s only 6 went undetected,so very pleased with the outcome. One final point on Brisbane,whilst stuck in traffic on the day that we arrived,a large 4 engined prop was seen in the dark adjacent to the fence,this is not visible from the terminal as far as I know,and the story of it's presence is of interest,details were given to me by a friendly taxi driver.It seems that a few years ago 2 businessmen bought a fleet of redundant aircraft and after the business failed the assets were sold off,it seems that they forgot that they had an aircraft left over and this was stuck at Brisbane,it turns out that this aircraft is ER-AXA an Antonov 12 c/n 01347907,formally with Aerocom,this machine is currently attracting a storage fee of some AUD 300 a day,and nobody can lay claim to it,interested?Hope this information helps,Geoff. It was posted on some groups that this became G-CDZZ, but this was quickly denied by various members, saying that the first MT-03 to carry G-94-1 did indeed become G-CDZZ, but the G-94-1 that was at the rally, was actually the second MT-03 to carry those marks. Which makes sense as G-CDZZ was registered in early August. I have just seen November's allocations and in it, is G-CEHM, an MT-03, previous ID G-94-1. My question - was this the MT-03 that was at the PFA FFF Rally this year? Secondly, I also notice from the allocations that Yeoman Light Aircraft Co are registering a fair few AeroSpool Dynamic WT9s at Drayton St Leonard-Manor Farm. I thought this was a small strip with only a couple of aircraft based. Are Yeoman based at Manor Farm? Is it a workshop as well as a strip?
